The Tramontana rises between the mountains of the Spanish Mountainside and literally comes out of nowhere. We first heard of this tiny Spanish automaker at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show when they had mentioned that their new vehicle would be one for the “bored with Ferraris and Lamborghinis”.
The Tramontana R will be priced at a tad just under half a million dollars with a tag of $495,000, being limited to a production of one unit per month!
This ludicrous car is built around a mid-mounted twin turbocharged, 720 bhp (537 kW), 5.5 Liter, double overhead cam, V12 engine sourced from none other then Mercedes Benz’s high performance department, AMG. All these goodies are strapped to your hand’s mercy by a 6 speed gearbox and rear wheel drive giving a top speed of 186 mph (299 km/h) and a 0-60 mph time of less than 4 seconds.
Close your mouth, it’s not nice to drool….
If the specs aren’t enough to please one’s desire then there’s always the interior to talk about. A sleek but functional cabin gives the driver the impression of being in some type of space ship or better yet, a race car of the future.
Remember those crazy video games of the early nineties featuring cars from 2048?
Well this is it! The design cues look like they were taken straight out of a japanese arcade game and we at Tuned, absolutely love it.
The body is made of aluminum and carbon fiber, assuring that the car tips the scales at a “feather-like” 950 kg (2094.4 pounds) and the suspension is by double wishbones all round, helping you NOT second doubt those attractive high speed runs. There also is a two seat option in which the passenger sits behind and slightly higher than the driver.
To top things off, the trunk badge is made of solid white gold, bling bling.

Absolutely incredible car! I love it! And impressive performance as well.
Finally something different in the “boring” world of supercars. Maybe there are some people who don’t like it but at least this car don’t leave you indifferent.
I’m in love with the central position and the cockpit of that car…it may be like driving an F-14 Tomcat on the road!
I’ve visited the website ( http://www.adtramontana.com ) and there are many pictures of the car. If you like the car visit it, it’s worth it.
Unfortunately, with so little production, I don’t think I will be ever lucky enough to see one of these in flesh…but, who knows?
